07) Not Finished Yet

The marble spins out of the shade,
and suddenly, the chill is gone.
White/purple melts to green and gold.
The sky is shot with streaks of dawn,

...and, in a stumbling dance,
the Summer gives it's chase to catch the Spring,
so by the turn of Winter,
they will hold the harvest Autumn brings.

(chorus)
The earth sits warm and ready now
to hold some seed,
and you're not sure how,
but there's no 'how' or 'where',
and it's enough to stand and be aware.
You've given something place to grow.
Will it catch root? Well, you just don't know.
For now, that's all you get,
but stick around, 'cause we're not finished yet.

Flat tan and matted umber
give way to moist and verdant ground,
and where the stream stood silent,
it giggles now with surplus sound.

...and, in a stumbling dance,
the ribbon circles 'round the laughing bride,
she knots her own unto it,
turns to take the Summer's breath inside.

(chorus)

You've carried the winter
around with you all this passing time,
one foot down, the other,
and so on, up the long incline,
but with your head bowed so low,
you never could see the sulight shine.

So, in the name of all things now,
gather the loss, the fear, the blame...
Gather them stately in your arms,
and let them fall into the flame.

...and, in a stumbling dance,
the May Queen pulls the Summer to the grass
to taste what might be tasted
'tween the blades, once circle has been cast.

(chorus)
