11) The Seed
Fell out of the sky,
gathered a bed of dirt, a cloak of flesh
and grew high,
noticed the light,
felt the weight of the fruit in the palm of my hand,
and so I took a big bite.
I reached up to the sun,
spread out my arms under the moon
in hope of touching someone.
Linking up hands,
the circle began to lead me back into...

...the spirit that bides
in the stone that's held inside,
though all the green turns into grey,
and flesh and bone part way.
The silver chain that threads the beads
is where what's handed down proceeds,
and everything we need to grow
is in the seed.
No, the fix isn't in.
The song's in the harmony between without and within;
what you collect, what you give up,
and who you'll let sit and share from your cup.
Each sound that you hear,
every image, every thought and every fear
simmers until it's been distilled into the essence of the...(chorus)
Some will grow and some will go astray.
Some will hunt, and some will serve as prey.
Some will come to nothing, 'cause they let somebody else say,
but there's still potential in that shell
lying on the concrete where it fell.
Catch the eye of the big black bird,
ans she'll pick you up and carry you away.
So, this is your chance.
Soul and a body, wedded together in this dance,
trying to give birth
to someone a few more pages along in the tale of this earth.
Now.
This is your time.
This is your turn to be the one at the front of the line.
