02) To Climb

Robed with the dark,
but in the place cupped 'tween her hands
lies the young face of flame.

Here shivers light. Shelter it well.
Now, it stands small, but it will swell,
as bit by bit, the sun descends,
but just to climb again.

No longer night to be endured,
but streams of light
lie 'round the curve of day.

What seemed a spiral into the dark
now makes it's turn towards the top of the arc,
as bit by bit, the sun descends
but just to climb again.

Ooh, between her fingers peeping.
Ooh, while you thought that she was sleeping.

This is the gift: one seed of light.
One point of gold
in this world of white and grey.

Tend to it well. Make it a home.
Stand by its warmth and add your own,
as bit by bit, the sun descends
but just to climb again.

Ooh, between her fingers peeping.
Ooh, while you thought that she was sleeping.
